Sorry to say, Mario and Luigi's, and their $4 homemade table wine, are gone forever.

However, Roll n' Roaster just down the road is still going strong. Yum!

As for Spumoni Gardens, they do have table service in the building on the left (as you're facing the restaurant) but it's VERY casual. There are some very nice Italian restaurants in Park Slope that aren't too expensive, but parking there isn't easy.

Garguilio's is a brooklyn institution, it's been there forever, but I never loved their food and as I recall it's pretty expensive. Or maybe I was just surprised at the cost because it's in the middle of the Projects of Coney Island. There's a small restaurant near where I live, it's got great food but again is very casual - it's called Anthony's, on Ave. X and E. 22nd St. That's Sheepshead Bay, very near all the other places people have been mentioning.

How about the Olive Garden? Casual, inexpensive dining... and it's Italian! There's one near Starett City (however you spell that).

Let us know what you decide, and have fun!

You should definitely try Vesuvio's in Bay Ridge:

It's on 73rd St. and 3rd Ave. It is my favorite restaurant and they are pretty reasonable with their prices.

WOW! I suggested Anthony's further up on this thread, but I didn't know anyone else had ever heard of it. I live two blocks away and go there all the time. I never thought of it as a place to have a bridal shower, but the food is sooooo yum, it must have been great.
