Re: nwr- restaurants in chinatown?
When you say 'nice' how nice do you mean? I'm only asking b/c there are a bunch of good restaurants in Chinatown, but they're not going to get 5 stars on cleanliness. Plus what type of food are you looking for?

I would second Joe Shanghai - order the meat soup dumplings.
Other places are Big Wong, and Wo Hop (which is a classic in chinatown).
For dessert: Definitely go to Chinatown Ice Cream Factory - they make delicious ice cream!!! These are all on the same block radius.

Yup, if you go to little italy: make sure you go to Rice to Riches - rice pudding place - even if you don't like rice pudding, the place is really nice.
As you can see I LOVE my desserts.... which is SO bad for my wedding dress...

Haha, if that's the case, go to Lombardi's - its across the street from Rice to Riches and they have absolutely fantastic pizza - its a sit down place, very nice and classy. Be prepared for a long line though. The last time I went, I waited 2 hours! Hope you enjoy!

i'm a big fan of vegetarian dim sum on pell street - even my friends who are hard core meat eaters love it. it's very casual and can be a big chaotic at peak hours (though it's really quiet on off peak hours), but it's nice. and the food is AMAZING!
