Re: NWR: Resume Objective Statements
Honestly, I don't even have an Objective Statement on my resume. I have gotten a lot of compliments on my resume. FM me if you want me to send you a copy.

Re: NWR: Resume Objective Statements
This was mine:
Objective: Seeking a position that will enable me to use my newfound clinical skills, as well as my experience, to work with individuals and families and provide them with the services they deserve.
Very simple and straight to the point! I also made it fairly open so that I wasn't limiting myself to one specific population or type of job.

Thats good ! Mine is hard because its a position that really only exists in the current industry im in and even then its still not that well known, makes it hard to find a starting point.

Re: NWR: Resume Objective Statements
I see a lot of resumes & objective is outdated- most people use profile & use the area as a way to differentiate (i.e. proven leader with a history of results in x) hth

well depending on the job i would look at education, then the companies you worked for and the duties for each. another thing that HR or hiring mgrs(HM). look for is the amount of jobs over a period of time. If you had 5 jobs in 5 years (of coourse depending on the industry things are different) it makes HR or HM weary. Make sure you are detailed but not over written. Long resumes are frowned upon as well. If you would like me to review it for you, FM me! I'd be more then happy to help!!!

I'm not HR but totally agree with this. The eye catchers for me are the negatives - typos, grammar-o's, unusual employment gaps, etc. I help lots of friends with their resumes and my singular most helpful piece of advice is to remember that the ONLY purpose of the resume is to get them to call you in for an interview, NOT to 'get the job.' Less is definitely more when it comes to the job description/responsibilities section, IMHO.

Re: NWR: Resume Objective Statements
agreed about objectives being a little outdated & replaced with a kick *** cover letter...IMO
