NWR: Road trip based on Food Destinations?

Original post by TheNextMrs.B

Hi Ladies!
DH and I want to plan a road trip but base it on food destinations. Since we like to watch the food and travel channels does anyone have any suggestions or have you done this?

We love food too!! We're obsessed with Anthony Bourdain's show and anywhere we go we always refer to where he suggests eating.

We're going to visit the Culinary Institute of America next weekend in Poughkeepsie and seeing Bourdain next weekend in Kingston..

Road trip themed with Bourdain in mind!!

My oldest friend went to school at the CIA!!

I need details for the Bourdain in Kinston thing!!

Going to Ed Debvic's alone is worth a trip to Chicago.

I want to go to Rut's Hut in Jersey for their deep fried hot dogs.

We were thinking of going for about a week so we're open to anything. And of course along the way check out some attractions. I don't know how realistic this is but I want to go to Maryland and see the Horses!

When we went to Boston we stayed at the Parker House - home of the Boston Cream Pie and Parker House Rolls. Both were yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

He's doing a thing up in some random theater in Kingston next Sunday at 5:00, we got tickets a couple of months ago. FH and I are both really into his show and love Kitchen Confidential.

We're making a weekend out of it and we tried to get reservations as Escoffier at the CIA but we're on a waiting list

We're making a weekend out of it, now that we can't go to the CIA we have no plans besides the Ever Ready Diner for Saturday...
