Hi girls. I just got back from the dermatologist and I have rosacea on my face. I know that makeup covers it up well but I'm afraid it will get worse by the time of my wedding. Does anyone else have it? What do you use/take?

Re: NWR: Rosacea
I have a friend who has it.
Limit your caffeine intake, alcohol. It also can get worse with 'stress'.

I have it and it SU@KS!! But with that being said you can control it mainly by diet. I know what my 'triggers' are. I can't eat tomotoes, mangos, aspartame(nutra-sweet substance in many low sugar/calorie drinks) red wine, citrus fruits. Those for me are the worst! I have cut it out completely. I had too, I was fed up with my face looking terrible. I went to the dermatologist and it helped...I literally put 6 different creams on my face throughout the day. I don't know what works and what doesn't, but whatever is working, works really well, so I don't want to cut anything out Also, the sun can affect it too as well as stress. FM me if you want to know anything else. Don't let it get you down! I found controlling my diet and completely cutting out the above triggers helped so much!

I have it, have no idea what the triggers are, have tried at least a dozen different acne medications to keep it under control to no avail. A month ago I got a new primary care MD and I told him I wanted a referral for dermatologist and explained why. We went through all the topical oinments I have been on. He presecribed simple ordinary everday hydrocortisone, and told me to try it for a month before sending be to a dermatologist. It's working wonders!!

Girl, I am with you! I get this in random spots on my face... above and below my lip, around my nose, sometimes around my eye.... it goes on and on. My save-all is a prescribed low doseage of hydrocortisone cream. I have even gotten to the point where once it clears up, I still use the cream every several days to try to keep it away! You better believe I will be using it a lot as my wedding gets closer! Hope you can find the cream to work for you!!!! Everything will be fine!

I have it. Did the dr. give you anything. I wash my face with a sulfur wash and that seems to keep it under control.

That sulfur wash smells sooo bad!
I have it and it's mild, just on my nose, more like when you eat hot soup or something spicy.....which is when you notice it on me. There are many triggers, so you have to see what yours are......I really don't use anything because my rosacea is more of a flare up type....
Oh, my derm did prescribe MetroGel though, which I hardly use.

Thanks girls you are all making me feel much better!
She did prescribe metrogel which I really hope works. I wonder what my triggers are! Stress, caffeine, alcohol... all my vices!!!
