NWR: RP West Babylon

DH and I put an offer on a house in West Babylon on 6th Street. It's a great price, but needs a lot of work... which we're okay with, but...

What can you guys tell me about the area?
Mainly:
School District (West Babylon Schools)
and overall area in terms of re-sale in the future, community, etc. etc.

I have lived in WB all of my life. I think there is a difference if your house is between Straight Path and Little East Neck vs. Wellwood and Staight Path. The later of the two, have bigger houses with smaller yards. Also, those houses tend to have more younger families inside. The schools here are good. We have many academic intervention, sports, extra curricular programs in our schools.

My mom and her entire family grew up on 4th st. My aunt still lives there. I am there all the time. The neighborhood id good and as ateacher I can say that the schools are good as well

The school district is very good-- and my parents own a house on 3rd street near little east neck rd..and i think its a beautiful neighborhood.

I grew up on 14th street. My family still lives there. The neighborhood is okay. Schools are great. You'll like it. There seems to be more development in the area lately so that's a good sign.

One of DH's friends grew up on 6th street in W. Babylon. He went to private school, but said the school district is good.
From what I hear it's better than most of the surrounding schools. (Not to say that some of the surrounding schools aren't good too).

I grew up in WB on the # streets and all of my family still live there. The schools are good. I have a lot of friends that work there. My nieces and nephews also go to school there.
