Hi! I grew up in Sag Habor so I'll give you some suggestions Here are some good places to eat:
American Hotel (Very $$, but great food and very famous) Sen (Japanese, good food) Cappucinos (Great italian, love the garlic knots) Oasis (It's on Noyac rd., a little out of the way, but it's on the water and great food, pretty $$)
Some good 'nightlife' places:
Corner Bar (not far from your hotel, mostly local crowd) Stephen Talkhouse (It's in Amaganassett, but they usually have concerts, check out their website) Murphs (Open very late, another local place)
Hope this helps!!!

I couldn't have said it better myself!!!! Oasis is my FAVORITE restaurant EVER!! But I would check if it's open. I know they closed for a bit, but double check.
Paradise also has an ok bar scene and you can't go wrong with Conca D'oro!! The absolute BEST BEST BEST pizza around (I'm biased, great friends with the owner )

I personally love to eat at Spinekers. It is all American and it is delicious. It is also right next door to this really nice clothes store.

Capaccinos is my personal fav. I have been going out there since I was born (my fam has a summer house there). All the restaurants are pretty great though!

Re: NWR: Sag Harbor
Japanese: Sen, try the Saki Fancy & Expensive: The American Hotel Family Style & Pub: Corner Bar or Spinnakers Mexican Fiesta: La Suprica & Jimmy Buffet owns a seafood restaurant/raw bar next to the Hardware store...can't remember the name.
all restaurants are on Main Street, it's a very small town.

Thanks for the great response to this. As part of the weekend special, we get a gift certificate for dinner to one of these 4 places: Spinnaker Corner Bar Giordano il cappucinno
which one should we choose?

Not Giordano, it's in Noyac too far and its just a pizza place. Spinnakers is great, because I used to work there, but il Cappucinno is my favorite. Great Italian food, cozy, and memorable.

I thrid it!! I personally don't like Spinnakers and cappuccinos is much better italian then giordanos. Corner Bar is good if you want a burger, but for a nicer meal go to Cap's.

Re: NWR: Sag Harbor
I guess cappuccino's it is. i'm going to take advantage of this great group here and ask a few more questions. 1) I guess Sag Harbor isn't that big, but are there any good bars within walking distance (in the cold) from Baron's Cove Inn? 2) I know it is winter and there's not as much going on as in the summer, but does anyone have any suggestions about what do during the day. It can involve a car.

You can walk to everything in Sag town from Barrons. Corner Bar is very local and good for a burger etc. It can be fun... If you're looking for something more classy, JLX is right across the street and it's got a nice bar and decent food. Paradise also has a nicer bar scene than the Corner. Corner's just VERY local, so it's simple and fun for us.
If you have a car, take advantage of driving out to Montauk, check out the bluffs, the dunes, the scenery, the lighthouse. Treat yourself to magnificent views and a quant little town.
Anything else, just ask!! There's few of us local girls on here that can help you

Re: NWR: Sag Harbor
A few miles down the road from Sag Harbor (Madison St I think) leads directly to Wolffer! Go for a wonderful wine tasting (or buy a bottle) and enjoy! My husband and I will be at the Baron's Cove on Saturday night this week! Lauren Bacall will be in town too (at the Bay St. Theater). We'll probably walk into town at night to go to Murf's (or if we feel fancy, we'll hit the American Hotel) for drinks!

Re: NWR: Sag Harbor
Wine tasting!!! There are a few wineries on the South Fork (Wolffer, Duck Walk and my personal fav CHanning Daughters). Montauk is definately a good option and if it's not too cold I always like walking around the villages checking out all the shops. You can go to Sag Harbor and East Hampton and find lots of fun shops. Have fun!!!
