Re: NWR: San Francisco

When I went, we stayed at the Monticello Inn and found it to be very centrally located (near shopping, and the BART -- easy walk or ride everywhere). I went with a friend and we got a suite with two rooms that wasn't that expensive. There wasn't a pool or anything at the hotel, but who goes to SF to sit in a hotel pool?

As far as things to do, there are zillions of websites that can help you with that, based on what your preferences are. Something I did that I thought was great was take a behind-the-scenes tour of the stadium where the Giants play and then get on a boat that takes you from there to Fisherman's Wharf! We didn't do a separate boat to Alcatraz or anything, but this boatride took us all the way through the bay and was part of the price of the ticket for the stadium tour! It was several years ago (2004), but I suggest looking into whether they still do it.

Re: NWR: San Francisco

i stayed at 2 different places in SF. the westin and le meridian. both were phenomenal places (and if you're a SPG member like i am, totally worth the points). Both were located in a great location, walking distance to the pier and bart.

there are so many things to do in SF. i absolutely adore it and that's actually where my FH proposed to me!!!

you can visit alcatraz... book a wine tour(super fun and romantic!), visit the pier, fishermans wharf, lombardi street (the really crooked, twisted, turn-y street), etc.

if you just google it, you'll find plenty of things to do.

have a phenomenal time!
