NWR: School Loans

Lately I have been feeling very overwhelmed with my school loans. I am currently in school going for nursing but I feel that when I am done with school I am going to be in such big debt that I am not going to be able to afford a house. It really upsets me

I don't have any school loan debt, but FH will have MAJOR debt when he finishes his MBA. its definitely a point of contention and I think about it all the time.. You just have to take a deep breath and say whatever will be will be.. Some things are just out of our control.

Both my DH and I have school loans. I'm in nursing school as well, that's why our real wedding is so far away. Together in loans, we have more than $100,000 and I'm not even done yet. :(

i feel ya- we have nearly 90K in loans combined mostly Fh's and our payments combined are 1600 a month...more than we pay in rent. i want to vomit. but i think back and we both agree that we wouldn't trade the experience of going away to school for anything and we are proud of our hard working and knowing we earned it and it hasn't been handed to us. i am so grateful my parents paid 90% but it still makes me feel good and appreciate that i contributed to my education. it will all work out- take a deep breath!!! :)

I have tons of debt, FH has none. The house is in FH's name right now.

I actually feel duped with my loans, but it is a long story that will only anger me. I am part of a group on Facebook that posts about student loan issues. I'm just glad that student loan debt is getting a lot more attention now than it did 3 years ago.

Hopefully there will be solutions for all of us soon :)

I just had to start repaying my loans back this month. I can't believe my monthly payments and I wonder now how we will be able to afford a house before or after our wedding with this new monthly bill. This scares me

I graduate nursing school in December! I worked my butt off on top of school to pay for what financial aid didn't cover so my loans won't be that bad thank goodness.i also bought a house when I was very young for very cheap and diy renovated it.... But as soon as u get a good job u should be good! Never say never ! Just work really hard and u can achieve anything!

I completely understand your feeling! I graduated in May with my Masters and will have close to $25,000 in loans to start paying off in January. It is scary to think about but I think it's worth it overall. It took me about a year, but I finally landed a job that I start next week with a big pay increase. It will happen it just takes time and dedication so don't loose sight of the goal! It sounds so cheesy but it's really true lol.

Re: NWR: School Loans

I completely understand. I have school and credit card debt which sucks and FH had no school loans and very minimal credit card debt. It sucks and makes things so hard (paying bills, saving for a wedding, etc). Hopefully at some point the student loans will just get wiped out :) But at least you know you aren't alone and there are a ton of us stuck like this.

I owe 80,0000.00 myself! I am going to consult a mortgage broker now so I can prepare myself before we start looking in May! I worry about this everyday! I completely understand :(

I completely understand. Both FH and I have school loans to payback. We know we won't be able to afford a house for awhile, but we are trying to save as much as we can now, even if it's just a few hundred every month so when the time comes we are ready to go! There are plenty of people with loans who also find ways to buy a house... I know it's overwhelming now to think about. I want a house so badly.

I definitely understand! FH and I both have loans and it can be really stressful thinking about how much we owe but sometimes you just have to accept Amit and pay what you can. Your education is precious and that can never be taking away from you. Just do what you can
