NWR: So freakin proud of myself!!

So I am in my fourth year of medical school & I had my first interview for intern year yesterday...

I'm applying for radiology, but you have to apply and go on separate interviews for intern year and then radiology residency.

Sooo.. I had an intern year interview at the same hospital I want a radiology interiew at, but haven't gotten one yet.

On my way out I worked up the courage to go up to the radiology office and introduce myself to the program director. I literally went up to the door, stopped turned around, went back, etc. for like 5 mins lol.

I finally knocked on the door, introduced myself, said I would love to interview here, etc. And the program director said- You def deserve an interview, in this line of work you have to go after what you want, and I can see you really want this!!

I CAN'T EVEN BELIEVE IT.

I worked up the courage a few days ago to talk to my boss about how I deserve a raise...and he agreed!!!

(my school is a 5 year program-gotta do a preinternship year at NYMC) That is soo great you spoke up!! It's hard for me to ask for things like this too but in this line of work we have to go get what we want. And RADIOLOGY is great!! such an awesome life style. I'm applying for Internal med and neuro next year. Are you applying to just Northeast area? where do u go to school?
