I don't even know why I'm posting this on here but I am just so angry I need to vent and no one is picking up their phone so it looks like it's on you girls (sorry)! My boss where I work made a comment about my sneakers being out, which they were not! They were under my desk! Anyway I didn't move them and I come back from lunch and they are sole side down on my chair on top of my jacket! I am so disturbed/angry that he actually touched my personal property and moved them! Ok it's out I feel better, thanks.

I am a vindictive biatch so first I moved them to the middle of the aisle but then I felt bad if I tripped someone so now they are on the wall of my cubicle and if he comes and touches them again, he will be taking a sneaker to the head

he's the type of person where someone might not do work all day and he's fine with it but if he finds a lone rubberband on the floor, the whole office has to hear about it. Unfortunately he started this company and he is on a power trip now because he's in his 70's and has alzheimers, well the beginning stages of it. So any little way he can take control he does.

I say you go to his office and mention that you found your sneaker on top of your jacket. That it disturbs you that someone would do that since it seems like a harrassing kind of prank that a frat boy would do.
The minute you throw harrassing into the picture he should straighten out his act. I would also report him to HR.

What is that? Eww, I'd be annoyed that the dirty soles were on my jacket and chair. What's his problem? I've worked with people who have a lot more than sneakers under their desk. What's the big deal about your shoes...where else would you put them?

ugh it's such a small company there is no HR! He's losing his mind, he's kind of old and i've made complaints about him before but since he's the head boss (like started this co. from the ground up) no one will say anything to him. I get the well just deal with it type response

Just leave it alone, as irritating as it is.
As you said, he is older and has the beginning of Alzheimers. It may be one of the manifestations of the progressions of the disease.
Nothing will come of it except a tirade from him and you getting further upset. Keep your sneakers under your desk, just put them in a bag so he can't see them in the future.

thank you, I know this is the right thing to do but sometimes my anger gets the best of me. I'm still considering the sneaker to the head approach. And I did take them down after I read this, thank you

I get angry at work too, fume on it for a little while, then just let it go because it doesn't get me anywhere. Been at my company a long time to know what works and what doesn't.
Visualize the sneaker to the head when he walks past you. That should help. Oh, and remember that he was considerate enough to put your sneakers UPSIDE DOWN on your jacket, so as not to dirty it.
