NWR - SO incredibly aggrevated - need advice - BM related
Im aggrevated. Im supposed to go to see the chili peppers tonight in nj with one of my good friends, weve gone to like every chili peppers show together. shes one of my BM's. And now she tells me she made plans with like 2 of her guy friends that I only know like as aquaintances from high school to drive with them. And I absolutely don’t want to go with them at all. They make me incredibly uncomfortable. I know little about them and I know that the people she hangs out with are generally pretty sleezy. So I told her that and shes kinda mad now. I know that this girl doesn’t like driving anywhere – shes always been a little afraid of driving – especially in the rain. So now shes saying that she doesn’t even want to come to drive and meet me at my house - which is a half hour closer to the concert than where she lives - because shes scared of driving there. So if I make her do that im putting her in an uncomfortable situation AND shell be miserable all night anyway cause she generally a miserable person and this will just make it worse. So that leaves me 3 options – 1. I can drive a full hour (prob more with traffic) out of my way to get her and bring her home. 2. I can go pick her up but insist that she get a ride home from the guys. 3. I can just give her both tickets, lose out at least $100 for my tickets, and call it a day… what do you think?? Im leaning towards #3.

Before you do anything rash, see if maybe you're overreacting.... She IS in your bridal party... you know the saying 'pick your battles' blah blah blah......
You've been going to RHCP concerts for a long time now, do you want to break that streak?

I understand that it would have nice if she mentioned it to you before she made the plans. Esp since its your plan and these guys make you uneasy. But on the other hand, you'd be missing out on your tradition, you'd have an easy ride to the concert, and you won't have to worry about parking. The RHCP are awesome, go to the concert.

I'd consider going to pick her up, actually, so you don't ruin the tradition or your night.
If you feel the guys are sketchy (like they would be the ones driving and may get drunk, e.g.), then I would not go with them...
I think it's a situation where you need to pick your battles AND be safe. I'd consider picking her up and having the guys drive her home -- if it's safe to do so.

I say either go out of your way to pick her up or let her ride with those guys and just meet her at the concert. You shouldn't not go because she doesn't drive in the rain. It's inconvenient, for sure, but if she really doesn't feel safe driving, you shouldn't maker her, but at the same time it's not worth ending your tradition and causing a rift in your relationship. How did you two plan on getting there in the first place?
