NWR: Sony Reader vs. Kindle

Does anyone have thoughts on the Sony Reader versus the Kindle? Want to get one of them for the honeymoon, since I read so fast.

Re: NWR: Sony Reader vs. Kindle

Hi!
I have the Kindle. My FH got it for my birthday in August. I love it!! I'm a fast reader and go through books pretty fast. This saves me so much on space for storing and carrying my books. and amazon has many kindle books either at a discounted price or free. I have found all the books I was looking for in the kindle store.

the best feature for me is that i can download a book from anywhere. it doesn't have to be connected to a computer like I think the SONY reader does. I was literally on the bus and downloaded the sequel to a book I was reading and the download took less than a minute.

I think in the end, the kindle, although the up front price is steep, will be WORTH IT in the long run.

can you tell i love this thing?

good luck in your decision!!!

I don't know much about the Sony but I have a Kindle and I love it. I read a lot of books and the Kindle is great. With the wireless service I can download a book from anywhere and most of the time they cost a lot less than buying the book.

The only thing about the kindle is that it doesn't seem to have a 'backlight' so hard for nighttime or the train or something like that? Does anyone know if the reader has it?

If you use a booklight then its no problem...its nicer without the backlight because the Kindle reads like a regular page out of a book so your eyes don't get tired like they would staring at a computer screen.

ETA: I know nothing about the Sony Reader but I LOOOOOOOOOVE my Kindle!!!!!!
