NWR - South Beach Diet?

Hi,
I am thinking of trying the South Beach Diet. Has anyone tired it - & what are your opinions? I just want to lose about 10 -15 lbs. before the wedding in June.

Thanks!!

I have done it and the first 2 weeks are really hard. (Especially if you are addicted to carbs like I am lol ) You can only have meat, vegetables, and I believe very little fruit. However, after you get past the first two weeks you can slowly introduce whole grain carbs again. I lost weight on it but once you stop following the plan and start eating carbs you most likely will gain it right back. My favorite part though was you could eat so much cheese on it and cheese has to be one of my favorite foods lol

I definitely recommend weight watchers. I have done that and have lost weight. It really allows you to eat anything but in moderation and makes you aware of portion sizes.

i follow a primal diet, which is similar to south beach but you can eat fruit (low sugar fruits like berries) and lots of veggies... i highly recommend it for weight loss

Re: NWR - South Beach Diet?

I just finished my first week of phase one and I lost 6.6 lbs so far. This is my second time doing south beach and the first time I lost 10 lbs in the first 2 weeks. I have a normal BMI so it was a shocker!

I really like south beach because you don't count calories which gives me a headache, you can have your fill all day of the approved foods for each phase. Believe me, I LOVE carbs but I'm pretty satisfied - the first couple of days are the hardest!

And you CAN have fruit - just not in the first phase.

Where I lost control the last time was once I finished phase 1, I just didn't follow phase 2 as closely as I should've! This time I plan to do phase 1 for 4 weeks then really follow phase 2. Once I lose all the weight I want, I can maintain it until the wedding!

Definitely research it and give it a try. good luck!
