Re: NWR: South Beach hotels?
well this is close to south beach but not in south beach...Don't know if you've ever been to coconut grove in florida, its right outside of miami just a few minutes away, it is gorgeous so nice there. Theres one thing next to another there...Senor frogs, and a bunch of bars and clubs, great shopping area and restaurants.
We went in november and stayed at the Sonesta hotel there and it is GORGEOUS...its a very trendy type hotel, the lobby was very zen like. You're right by the water and i liked this area a little more than miami to tell you the truth.
The room we had was amazing. His whole family went bc we were all there for a wedding, and we happened to get the biggest room so not every room is the same but all nice. Ours had a full kitchen and it was pretty big and was fully stocked with plates, forks& knives, toaster and everything. The area itself was very large and even had a huge cherry wood table where you can even turn into a dining room table. It had a nice balcony with a table outside. It was seriously like a small apartment, FH and I were saying how we wouldn't mind living in this room for a while and in that area lol

FH and I stayed here and it was beautiful. I have stayed at a couple hotels but I forgot the names. Out of all of them I would recommend the Lowes.

i stayed at the Sheraten BBal Habour which is right outside of south beach and it was beautiful. it has a large pool area and is right on the beach...literally!! we rented a acar and drove when we needed to get to the actual south beach area where all the dining anh shopping is. we stayed right outside south beach because it wa less congested and less of that 'spring Break' type crowd. but we were happy w/the hotel.

Re: NWR: South Beach hotels?
whatever you do DO NOT stay in the Chesterfield Hotel and 'Spa' (HA if that's what they would like to call it) on Collins Ave. I went to south beach the past few years with some friends and last year that is where we stayed....well, what we thought would be a nice hotel (pics on the website looked great) was a horrible experience. When we got there....our room only had one bed. (there were 3 of us) when we specifically reserved a room with 2 beds. we tried to switch it when we got there but they had no other rooms available. We were pissed about that so the second night they were able to switch the room, but when we did it was infested with roaches!!! they were everywhere! it was so nasty. and to make it worse that bathrooms had no shower curtains or anything....just a drain in the floor for the shower...so when ever we had to shower the water would get everything that happened to be in the bathroom soaking wet! including the toilet paper!!! plus the water was cold. keep in mind this was not a cheap hotel, so just be careful. when u book.
i do recommend staying somewhere near collins ave though. there is a lot of shopping around there, and its right near the beach!

I was there in January and stayed at the Besty Ross - they just renovated last fall, the place is pretty nice, right on Ocean Drive, but not in the middle of all the craziness so that you can't sleep from noise outside. They had a pool but it was on the small side. Very boutique-y... reasonably priced too.
