NWR - Summer Vacation

FH and I are planning of 4-5 day trip for the end of August - it's our first real vacation together. We have narrowed it down to either the Bahamas or Bermuda......but now we can't decide where to go!!!

Has anyone been to either? What do you recommend?

I have not but my cousin and his wife always go to bermuda ad absolutley rave about it...

I've been to Paradise Island in the Bahamas, and if that's what you're thinking, it is SO WORTH IT. FH and I went there in August 2005 and were literally in love. We stayed at the Comfort Suites, which is the sister hotel to the Atlantis. The rooms there are cheaper than Atlantis and you get full access to all the awesome Atlantis facilities (pools, towels, room charge, beach, spa, etc.). The only downside in August is that it is HOT HOT HOT. But wow - there is so much to do. We were there 7 days and we did booze cruise, jet skiing, casino, shopping, etc. We were also going to swim with dolphins, but Orbitz totally screwed us and we had to fight them on the phone for a refund.

I've never been to Bermuda, but I've heard it's very beautiful and romantic. The only bad thing that I've heard is there is really no nightlife.

I've been to the bahamas..we stayed at the atlantis..which let me tell you was amazing!!! but the bahamas was really nice..but don't stay in nassau..if your going to stay anywhere stay on paradise island..nassau is kind of skuzzy (sp?) lol

Totally agreed - do NOT stay on Nassau. Stay on PI! Even though they're attached by a bridge, Nassau doesn't compare.

Weve been to the bahamas several times

2 times at the atlantis
2 times at sandals

they are both great in their own ways.

Atlantis can be very expensive.. but beautiful!

I heard great things about bermuda.. FH has been there

Bahamas is nice but whatever you do don't stay at the breezes!!!! worst vacation of my life. the ac didn't work in our room!! it was about 100 degrees that night. we literally had to lay on the floor in front of the window just for some air.

oh yeah and we booked 2 rooms (we were with another couple) they thought we did it by accident so canceled one of them, but never gave back our money! so yeah if someone accidently ever rents 2 rooms they will cancel it and keep your money.

we went to the atlantis but it was all booked up. I offered to pay anything to stay there lol even the biggest suite, they had nothing. so whatever you do don't stay at breezes. atlantis is gorgeous. and bermuda southampton there is supposed to be great.

I've been to the Bahamas, right after I graduated HS, it was our senior trip..... I loved it, I stayed at the Nassau Marriott, which is something else now...

However, I believe that you might have better weather (heat-wise) in Bermuda, it's further North..... JMO.

I HAVE TO SAY 100% WITHOUT A DOUBT BERMUDA. Its beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and sort of a 'romantic getaway' Pink Beaches., oh i miss it!
