NWR... Sushi!

Okay... I love going out for sushi with my girlfriends back when I was living in NJ (FH hates it). I haven't found a really good sushi restaurant in LI... Anyone know any good places in Nassau (I live in Lynbrook).

I live in Lynbrook and there are 2 places I love!!!

One is Taiko in RVC on Park Ave I think?? and it's a little on the pricier side, but sooooo yummy..

and there's a SMALL restaurant in Lynbrook on Merrick Road just past the movie theatre called Mikado.. it's small inside but the food is amazing.. they have great lunch specials that cost like $7.00 and you get soup and salad with it.. I haven't been to dinner there but my mom has and says it's just as good!!

oooh i second Taiko! There is also Nagahama in Long Beach (next to the movie theater) and Midori in Woodmere (on Broadway)... those are my faves! we loooove sushi

Yummy Yummy in Long Beach and they have a Yummy Yummy 2 in Merrick. They offer all you can eat sushi (orered at table not set up buffet style for $21.95)

Mikado on Merrick rd in lynbrook is good

Also- Toyo on Atlantic Avenue in Balwin is AWESOME! The restaurant is suuuper tiny so I always take out, but its AWESOME! They make a roll called a 007 roll... it's shrimp tempura wrapped in seaweed and rice, with spicy tuna on top and tempura shavings on top of that.. MMMMMM!

Thanks ladies... I'll have to check out the one in Rockville Center since it's 5 minutes from us. Anyone ever been to Umi on Long Beach Rd in Oceanside? I my friend and I are going there tonight for 'girl's night,' which means drinking and lots of sushi rolls... Yum!

my fh and i like mikado. He lives in lynbrook. Also we like minado for sushi buffet, but that is in carle place.

Is Umi expensive? We haven't been because it looks expensive.

If you can, go to Minami in Massapequa (on central Ave, off of Broadway).. I'm a sushi loooooover. FH and I try sooo many places. Yes Taiko is great, Taishow..but Minami has some of the freshest fish ever!!! It's a really small beautiful place. The service is so great, they clean up your soy sauce before it hits the table!!

Ozumo on Hicksville Rd & Hempstead Turnpike in Bethpage is Awesome.
The Sushi is out of this world there......

These are all out east more in Suffolk, but they are worth mentioning because they are all so GOOD!!!!!!!! Try them if you are ever out this way!

Kotobuki-Hauppague

Sushi Ichi- Setauket

Sushi Kimi- Port Jefferson

Def. Taiko in RVC and there is Koiso in Carle Place and the other one that is really good is Uki's Palate on Old Country Road...I think it's Westbury!
