As someone who has tattoos, I suggest you find an artist, lok through his/her portfolio (any GOOD artist will have one) and either choose from an existing design or have them create one for you. This seems like something that means a lot to you, and it is permanent, so make sure you can live with it!

I agree, find a good artist and they can help you. My tat is not to memorialize anyone, but I probably would not get it again given the opportunity, but that's just me, and I was 18 when I got it!!!

ETA: My tat is a yin yang with a rose through the center of it and tribal symbols on the top and bottom, and it's on my lower back, BIG painful spot BTW!

Re: NWR: Tattoo's

I have one tattoo and was thinking about getting another in memory of my grandmother. I was thinking about getting an angel on my upper back (after the wedding of course) with the words 'Now I lay me down to sleep...' and the date of her death. Apparently my FH thinks this is way too morbid, lol. Maybe he's right. Just make sure you go to a good tattoo artist. There are tons of places to go to. Also, if you had something specific in mind they can draw the tattoo for you.

HTH.

I would search this website - but be forewarned, it can be graphic if you stumble into the wrong forum!! They have tattoos searchable by category and some really amazing talent and quite a variety:

I have four and I hate three of them.
The only one I don't regret is the pawprint on my lower stomach that I got when I got my dog four years ago.

I put all of my tattoos in places I can see them in the event I begin to hate them. This tattoo:

is a combination of the astrological signs of mine (Leo) and those of my parents (Capricorn - Dad and Sagittarius - Mom). I tried to make up my own design but I am not an artist. I left it in the hands of the artist, he presented it to me and it was exactly what I wanted.
