NWR: Taxes

Yes I didn't do my taxes yet...I have just been so behind with school work I feel that I have no time to think about taxes....

ok well i do have time but that time is spent on here LIW asking you guys questions about taxes and complaining i dont have them done

Anyway- when is the deadline for taxes to be filled is it April 15th? An does anyone know of any free tax services websites...like where i dont have to pay $30-40 for Turbo Tax or some crap

or maybe just have to pay for the actual paper filling or whatever it is like $15 or so...

TIA

I am so bad - my dad's accountant charges me $20 to do them - and i just collect all the stuff i 'think' he will need and my dad takes it when he does his.

After we are married, FH says I can use his work accountant so I will have to kind of know what I am talking about a little so i dont look dumb LOL

I think it's actually April 16th this year. Cause the 15th is a sunday. So you have an extra day. You can file it yourself by using the 1040 ez form. All you do is fill it out and send it in. I am sure they have it on the state tax website.

Re: NWR: Taxes

I used turbo tax...the federal tax stuff on there was free the state tax cost $30...i filed electronically through turbo tax and got my federal return back within 10 days. I dont think i received my state one yet though.

supposedly if u e-file u get the $ back faster than sending in the forms. i believe turbo tax says if u mail the paperwork in...it takes 4-6 weeks to get the return vs. e-file which was like 10-14 days...or something like that.

They have an option for e-file., where your accountant files electronically for you, you dont mail in your return.**EDited for: The e-file takes 2 weeks or less.

I didnt do it., I mailed it in b/c it was like 75 bucks on top of my accountant fee.

sorry for confusion , so busy today and trying to right quick.
