Just curious... So I did my taxes... already got back federal... Was talking about state the other day and the accountant my job uses said not to hold your breath on getting state back anytime soon, because NYS is practically bankrupt. !?!?!?!? Was anyone else told this? Not that I am getting back a lot from state, but its still moolah I was counting on and my personal accountant never said anything to me.

the state always takes longer and usually they do them in bunches, so if you don't get your refund by a certain date, you have to wait for the next batch.
Unfortunately, this isn't affecting me this year....I actually owe the state almost $3,000!! YIKES!!!

How long is it taking to get the returns? FH filed his after mine and already has his, but the IRS website says I should get mine by 3/17. Is that the day its deposited, or the day to start yellign if I dont get it?
