I have to be completely honest when I say......be yourself and don't try to throw in too too many 'buzz' words, they aren't looking to hear about that and if you are unsure about something they will see right through it!

Just give LOTS of concrete examples of things you have personally done in the classroom! That is always the best thing!

Good Luck!

Re: NWR-Teacher please help!

no matter what ( I LEARNED THIS)
don't ( out of nervous ness) FORGET to mention
the KIDS

you care about kids, and their future and their scores, and the KIDS matter, blah blah
always KID CENTERED

Also- TAKE TIME to think, they like that, don;t rush- even say ' Let me recall....' get your thoughts together

I have interviewed a lot recently for admin. positions.... ( not that I have gotten any) but feedback was---this stuff

mention- You may not know all the answers today, but would go home and look up anything you needed to...

I agree! They want to know how you would incorporate this into your classroom.

Parent communication might be a question.

Also, if it is 4th grade they are probably going to be asking some sort of test questions. Make sure you know something about the tests in fourth grade. (ELA, Math, Science)

As someone else said, make sure you gather your thoughts before you speak. You dont have to answer the sencond they stop talking.

HTH- any questions, feel free to shoot me a FM
Good luck and let us know how it goes!!!

Bring your portfolio, give examples of things you've done-if you have pics. in your portfolio related to what you've done, show them, & be positive!

Thanks everyone! The interview went really well, the only problem is I would have to start the week I'm on my HM! They know my situation and that that is not an option, so if It doesn't lead to that particular job...then Hopefully it will lead to another within the district!

Also-Literacy and differentiation were the main topics!-thanks for the tips!
