Video wouldn't play for me.

I have a love/hate relationship with the Dove ad campaigns. I like the message, but find it ironic that they are using it to sell beauty products. (That's a mixed message to me - we're all for real beauty, but you still need our deodorant / lotion / etc. to make you look / feel better)

But I think it's wonderful what they are doing - especially their programs for younger girls!

Hopefully I can get the video to play on my home computer!

I dissasgree about the mixed messages. I don't think deodorant and lotion are the same as makeup and everything else associated with looking 'perfect.' Even if I'm beautiful just the way I am, I still don't want to smell like BO or have dry, itchy, cracking skin in the winter or have dirty hair. So I think there's a distinction between 'body products' and 'beauty products'
That being said, I think that the dove campaign certainly has a great message, especially for younger girls who are learning about body image, it will hopefully teach at least a few girls that they don't need to look like models in order to be beautiful and happy.
I found this video to be a bit too gimmicky (not sure why, that's just how it came off to me), but yeah, even models don't look like what we see, sometimes, so even though it's hard not to compare yourself to the images you're bombarded with every day, it's good to have the knowledge that those girls look so perfect because of computers and airbrushing. I applaude Dove for taking this stance and it makes me want to buy their products to promote their campaign (even if it is just to make a profit from saps like me).

i agree... i think that theres a difference between the body products that dove sells and things like make up, cover up, etc.... doves products are for taking care of your body, not making yourself look more beautiful.....
