awwwwwww, I'm so sorry. those are the WORST!!!!!

Personally, I don't like the 1 day creams (or ovules if they evens till make them) bc I don't think they work and that stuff needs to work over time. I think your best bet is one of the 7-day creams. Either Monistat or Vagisil work for me.... I used to get these all the time from working at summer camp and being stuck in a bathing suit all day long.... gross

I have never tried the pills for this, though...

feel better!!!!

Take acidophilus. It's found in the vitamin section

My dr. always has me take acidopholis with antibioitics to prevent that from happening.

The two times I've had that issue, I've used the 1-day ovule and although I HATE it and it makes me miserable - it works WONDERS. Highly recommend. Just use it before bed and when you wake up you feel better.

IMO the creams and stuff are too messy and take too long.

ETA Taking acidopholus after the fact won't help - trust me, I tried this and it just prolonged everything.

Next time ask your MD for another antibiotic. I know I can't take amoxicylin for this reason, so I ask for something else. Both times I've had one were bc I took amoxicylin. Next time get something else and take the acidopholus in tandem.

I would call ur doctor and have them prescribe something. I ALWAYS get them when I take antibiotics.

I haven't personally used that one-day ovule, but my friend is prone to getting these lovely flare-ups and she says it's a really good OTC remedy.

Feel better!

It's not over the counter, but its a miracle... Diflucan. it's one pill, fixes everything very quick. I usually take it as soon as i start an antibiotic. The dr should be able to just call it in for you.

i am sooooooo prone to this! my doctor has a one day prescription pill that is like a miracle worker but i dont know what its called. the creams and stuff NEVER work for me. mine used to be so common that my dr would send me with the pill whenever i went on vacation just in case i got one. i would definitely call your dr for a prescription- i think you can go through a bunch of over the counter stuff with no luck, better to just get a prescription and get it over with!

also, yah yogurt doesnt work really to treat it but my dr recommend that during warmer months or times of stress i use yogurt as a preventive measure every night.

hope that helps! i'm so sorry!!!!
