I know there are alot of medical professionals on this board and I have a questions.
I have an immense Tigger (from Winnie the Pooh!) collection and since we are getting married and moving, I am downsizing it dramatically.
Most of the toys are stuffed animals. Little beanie baby Tigger, large stuffed animals, medioum sized, etc. I want to donate them to a hospital, especially one with a childrens ward.
Does anyone know how I can find out doing this? I clean the Tiggers alot and spray them with Febreze allergy reducer every week, so they are not that dirty. Any information would be greatly appreacited. TIA

Re: NWR - Toy Donation for Hospital
That's very generous of you
The only thing I can think of, is to call around to the different hospitals in the area and see if they are interested. You could also donate them to Toys for Tots... I believe the Marines runs this and I'm sure they would be glad to take them.
If that doesn't work, you could join the Yahoo.com group Free Cycle Suffolk County NY. It's a page that you post items you want to get rid of and not just throw out. I've gotten and given many items.

Re: NWR - Toy Donation for Hospital
Unfortunately most hospitals will not accept plush toys regardless of how clean they are. It is against health regs. I work at Schneider's and when we were being audited we were informed that all stuffed animals had to go. If you find somewhere that will take them, please let me know. I have a ton of stuffed animals!
