My friend got a speeding ticket on the Grand Central Parkway for going 25mph over the speed limit. Now she has to go to traffic court. Does anyone have any experience with that? She doesn't have the money to hire a lawyer. Is it necessary to have a lawyer? Will they offer her a plea bargain? If so, what do you think the fine and points on her license will be? Any advice or information will be appreciated. TIA

Wow! 25 mph over the speed limit.
She doesn't need a lawyer but if she's going to fight it she really needs to have undeniable proof the cop was wrong in some way. otherwise even though they say 'innocent until proven guilty' they ALWAYS take the cop's word over the civilians.
she will get points and a fine.

I get a speeding ticket when i first started driving ... i got caught at 73 i think in a 55... so that was just about 20 mph over... back then (8 yrs ago) it was about $115 i believe and 4 pts on my license

i believe so but i think i remember mom paying for it and sending it in before i even had a chance to think about what i wanted to do... LOL
