NWR: TREADMILL USERS

When you were first starting out, how many miles did u run for at a time? Or how long did u run for?

i did a really slow speed like 4.5 for about 30 mins, then i increased the speed, then the time, and finally the incline -

i haven;t ran in awhile so i probably will have to do something like this again, when i start again

When I was first starting...I would walk a little and speed walk and then run for 5 minutes and then the next time keep increasing it until I was able to run for the whole time.

I am actually just getting back to running again...it is really a great feeling...that I missed a lot.
Good Luck

a nice walking pace is about 4.0- 15 minute mile

for jogging 5.0
running 6.0- a 10 minute mile

try switching it up- walk for a few minutes, then jog for 2 minutes- then swicth back

in a few weeks you should be able to run at 6.0 and add that in for 2 minutes

also adjust the incline to at least 2.0- that most mimics running outside- and it will reshape you lower body

stick with it- good luck

Exactly what I was going to post - straight from my personal trainer!

This is what I do when I'm really doing it. I try to mix it up. And I really like to start out at 4.0 and keep increasing the speed and incline till I get to a nice clip.

My new thing is I need to run longer...

I need to get another treadmill.

I walked at a fast speed 3.5 then I started a slow jog at 4.0 for about 1/2 hour.

you can jog faster then that- try it and let me know- you will burn so many more calories

try the adjusting the incline also- you wil burn alot more calories from that also

Thanks, I was trying to run faster but I almost killed myself on that thing!!!

Once I get back on it, I'll try going faster or for longer. I'll keep you posted.
