NWR Trying to not be down

The FH and I have been together for 8 years. his mom is like my second mom; the sweetest lady in the whole wide world. She was having arm pain the other day and went to the doctor. He took an X-ray and found some kind of growth on her lung. He told her to make an appointment with a lung specialist ASAP. She has an appointment on Monday. I hope it could be a million of different things, but they think it may be cancer. She's a lifelong smoker, but other than the arm pain has not had any other symptoms. I'm trying not to think negatively and stay positive, but I find myself thinking worst case scenario. My FH is devastated. He is not an emotional/ sappy person, and he can't stop crying. I don't know what to do for him. I keep telling him everything will be o.k., but I don't know that. I know he's not a talker and he keeps things bottled inside. So I just told him 'if you need to talk, I'm here for you, in the meanwhile I'll just give you hugs and pass you tissues'. I'm trying to be the strong one for him, and to keep him positive, especially since we don't know anything yet. But it's easier said than done, I guess. Today I just tried to be cheerful and happy, and hope that would make him feel a little better, but that didn't work either. His mom means the world to him, he's her little boy! Girls, we need your positive thoughts, vibes, prayers, and advice.

omg, im so sorry you guys have to go through this. I dont know what to say But ill definately keep you guys in my prayers. Hope for the best though it could be nothing., dont worry until you have to.

So sorry you guys are going thru this. You'll definitely be in my thoughts. I think it's so hard for most guys - a lot of times they just don't know what to do with their emotions. You're doing the right thing by just being there for him!! I'm sure once you guys know what you're dealing with, he'll be able to talk about it a bit easier.

You're both in my prayers. Keep doing what you're doing. He might not say anything but he definitely needs you right now.

I pray everything works out for you and your FH's fanily. I have been through a similiar situation FM if you'd like. Try not to stress too much and don't webmd. Keeping you and your FH's family in my prayers.
