NWR - update on our wedding plans!

Well we got a house today to rent on Canaan Lake in North Patchogue. So were moving in together for the first time (for real) on 3/1!!

We both decided were going to forfeit our deposit at the JT (do you know of any penalties?) and have a small wedding overlooking the ocean in his dads backyard in Belle-Terre. Smaller, elegant and beautiful. Less money and less stress.. I think I will have it catered like a BBQ :) Just fun with family and a few friends. ir eally would be happy with that... as long as I have my dress!! LOL

That sounds like it going to be absolutely beautiful! An intimate gathering by the water-you can't beat that.

well congrats on your decision. Now you can plan all your stuff and a backyard wedding in Beltaire sounds awesome. Oh and congrats on the moving in situation. I bet you both cant wait!!!! Best of luck with everything.

Amy, I'm so glad that you guys came to a resolution that works best for the both of you. That idea sounds beautiful. since you mentioned a bbq, You can try looking into these caterers. I believe they are also a vendor in this site. bare in mind that i don't have any personal experiences with them but I found them when I was doing my own research.

We're going to be neighbors!!! (well sort of I live on the other side of north ocean from where you'll be but I went to Elementary school at Canaan!) I'm glad you and Anthony worked everything out.

I'm glad you found a solution you are happy with - and you still get to wear your dress. While I was with a photographer this weekend I saw a book of a wedding that was held in someone's home, overlooking the Sound. It wa absolutely beautiful and definitely elegant. Good luck!

I think you will be very happy with your decision. It is more important to start your marriage off on the right foot than to be full of resentment. You did the right thing for yourselves. Congratulations.

Congrats! That sounds like the perfect wedding!!! I prefer that setting to a catering hall!! And the area is beautiful - my FH grew up there

traceyd - I live right across the street from Sams club now.. So Im not moving far. Partly b/c I want to be able to go to my moms when I need to. Anthony works a lot of nights and Im kind of afraid to sleep alone.

Thanks! I am so excited! Honestly I am so very in love with my sweetie! It was so nice that we finally got to sit down and talk. I told him that I would rather him tell me whats really on his mind that trying to keep me happy and stressing himself out. Whens hes stressed Im stressed. When hes happy Im happy... I guess thats part of the reason he wanted to make me happy! :) Anyway, I am so excited! Now I can spend some of that $$ for the wedding for furniture which we will need anyway and we can save some $$ towards a house with no stress, no rush.. Just laid back.. which is what we both want.

i am glad a resolution which you are both happy with was worked out

sorry about the desposit but at least you both came to the conclusion now and now when much more of it was paid

Well his mom just offered her place.. Her house is teeny, but her front yard in enormous and wooded in Miller Place off the road.. That could be nice too. Now I have a choice! Hmm is it the stepmom vs the mom?? Now Im going to worry about that LOL
