NWR: Verizon Fios 'door-e-marketers' vent

You were really sweet and polite and managed to complete MOST of your sentences in proper English, however, I am happy with my Cablevision service. I do not care that I am cheated out of .0008 seconds of connection speed as I don't notice it. My home computer is much faster than my work computer [see below] I also don't know why you think it's my business to tell me what company the CEO of Cablevision uses in his home either...

The thing that bugs me most is that you said Verizon would withstand a power outage and be faster....however at work, we have your wonderful service and well, if the power goes out [as LIPA is the greatest..yes, severe sarcasm], so does the internet and we must call you and wait for a service call to get online AGAIN. Sometimes for a couple days...and this cuts severely into my free time with the girls and Ron over at LIW. I don't appreciate your lying and one-sided facts.

Also, I don't appreciate that when I say 'No thank you' you ask to speak to my husband who is busy and I've told you is thrilled with our service and doesnt' want to switch. You were really sweet like I said, but I am happy and don't want to switch. Please stop driving a van over and prowling our neighborhood to sway us all back to your service...it's annoying and I missed valuable time with my daughter to discuss her first day of Kindergarten to deal with you.

Thanks!

eta--and why is it that at work [verizon] i can't reply to emails after the 2nd reply???? at home [optimum online] i can reply repeatedly with no problem. it's annoying.

Did you want to say something?

I actually looked to see if FIOS is available in my area. It's not. Someone at work has it (she's in Massapequa) and says it's cheaper and more reliable than Cablevision.

They've been coming around in our neighborhood in Rockland too. FFIL is retired and they've gone to their house a few times so he called in a panic looking for FH the other day (since he used to work with computers before the FDNY but, now has no clue on what's the better internet).

I for one agree with you, I am sick of the door people, phone solicitation and junk mail from Verizon. Meanwhile my phone has been out of service since SATURDAY NIGHT and I have not been able to speak to a human being because they are experiencing excessive call volume...the live chat is too overloaded and not usable. I made an appointment online and supposedly a guy was here for two hours today and still didn't fix my darn phone line (according to my landlord who was nice enough to be here for my 8am-6pm time slot!) I sent them three e-mails and my cell phone number and have gotten NO response. If I didn't have optimum I would have no way of contacting them. I was considering switching to FIOS but now knowing how their customer service is at Verizon, will NOT.

omg...DH gets these 'special delivery' letters from DHL, UPS AND FEDEX once a month...it's verizon reminding him of their current special, when his contract expires, that his bill was paid, um........you need to spend the extra funding on postage to have this sent by parcel delivery not the mailman? I admire the determination and I like the delivery guys, they are nicer than postal workers...but come on..it's about $5 to send that letter that way...and from my bulk mail experience, about 10 cents to send it regular mail!
