NWR: Very sad about my kitty!!! UPDATED

I just found out that my kitty (who lives with my parents) has kidney blockage and was immediately taken into surgery when they brought him in. They were told he has a 50/50 chance. We'll have test results in an hour. He's only 5.

UPDATE:
I just found out that he's okay . We got test results yesterday that were from when he was brought in on Friday, and they were off the charts terrible. So they ran new tests yesterday and they came back completely normal. Even the doctor was surprised. It looks like they will be able to take him home on Wednesday. We're are all sooooo relieved. The cat is the center of their universe. I'm not even kidding

Thanks everyone. My mom just called me and his not out of the woods yet. But the doctor sounded much more hopeful over the phone. They are keeping him overnight, which is normal from what I read. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that everything will be ok.

I am so sorry!! My kitty had similar problems a few months back. She had kidney failure and was on deaths door. Amazingly she survived and she is home with us, but they say she will only live another 2 or 3 years. We are supposed to be gving her IV fluids everyday, but we recently stopped. We coudn't bare torchering her anymore. We figured if she doesn't have long, we might as well let her be happy and enjoy the time she has left. Remarkably, she has been doing so much better since we stopped the fluids. I hope your kitty is ok and comes home soon!!
