NWR: Volunteer

Hey Ladies,

I was thinking a lot this weekend about how I used to volunteer and do things for the community and now with work and the baby, I haven't been able to do anything. With the holidays coming up, I would like to volunteer somewhere with kids and stuff....does anyone know of any opportunities?

Like Childrens hospitals, charities, etc.

Sorry hon. I volunteered at an animal shelter.

Maybe you could call your local hospital or maybe sign up to be a big sister?

I do the 'Winter Wishes' program through New York Cares, you basically play Santa Clause to a child in need and answer their letter to Santa. It's such a great thing to do, here is the info if you're interested:

I volunteer through New York cares. You have to go to one orientation and then sign up for whatever projects you want.

I also volunteered at the hospital in the childrens ward. Just need to set up an interview and get blood and drug tests.

I also was a big sister. I had two interviews, both about 3 hours! Then you have to wait to get matched. It takes longer for women to get matched than men because there are more women volunteers.
