If they go under, it could take the fed up to 2 weeks to reimburse everyone. Am I being crazy? I feel like we should yank at least some of it just in case!! FH thinks im nuts.

FH has wamu and we'll prob take it out, but only bc we were planning on switchin banks anyways....
I keep telling him to take our wedding $$ out of stocks (its only a portion) and he has yet to do it... I'm gonna strangle him if it plummets....

I have $ in a cd there so I read up on it. It says it's FDIC insured up to 100k...obv i'm way below that so i'm just going to ride it out.

I posted about this yesterday- yep already took my money out. My financial planner / boss advised me to take it out. With the stocks at about 2 bucks a share, it was the right thing to do. Even though it's FDIC insured, it could take weeks or months to reimburse the millions of bankers. I wanted to play it safe and get out. I left one account open with WaMu- waiting for all checks to clear. Then I am out 100%.

I don't want to alarm anyone, but I would take it out ... My friend works for Chase and she tells me that people (mostly older ones) are coming in droves with MaMu checks and opening accounts with them ... Also my sister is a paralegal for a rea estate lawyer and she already told me that their mortgage dept closed down and that the whole bank is next to go ...

I would take it out and go with JP Morgan Chase (my mom works there and they seem to be ok) or Bank of America. I currently have commerce and hope they don't fall into any trouble.

If you do take your money out make sure you put it in another bank immediately. Break-ins are on the the rise because so many people are taking their money out and keeping it at home. Also if you have a fir it is not replaceable.

If you bank at a certain bank and are unsure of whether or not its safe, just Google the shares and see. If it's under 5 bucks a share, pull it out. That's the safest way to go about it I think.
