NWR-Washing dishes

NWR-Washing dishes

So while we all are in wedding planning bliss, is there ever a time when your FH makes you want to commit homicide?

Last night he said he'd wash dishes, and he didnt, he said that he would this morning and he didnt. Stuff like that makes me want to hurt him! (just a little)

The funny thing is, I KNEW he wasnt going to wash the dishes! So why am I wasting time being upset?! I thought he would surprise me I guess. But then he says cute things like 'I didnt wash the dishes because I was running late for work because I wanted to stay in bed and cuddle you for a while this morning' MEN! Cant live with them, cant live without them!

I feel like killing him when he splatters things all over the kitchen and then just LEAVES it there.

FH is good about washing dishes but, not so good about other things, like going to CVS and picking up a prescription or returning a book to the library or giving it to his mom who works at the library when he's going there-both to his parent's house and the library mind you.

Responses I got were you didn't say you needed it today and you can just do it over the weekend, there's a book drop.

I think I'm a little frustrated because I just increased my commute 45 minutes to an hour each way (after having a nice short 25 minute one for the past few years).

ETA-I'm glad I'm not the only one who gets frustrated. My friend told me this would happen and I was like oh, after living with roommates for so long, this should be cake!

Im used to that. I have to tell my FH to do things a million times. Sometimes it is just easier to do things myself.

That's why we tag team dishes. I wash, he dries. We try not to let it go past 30 mins after we eat dinner. That way, we don't forget and at 12am when we go to be are like 'crap we forgot to do dishes!' We came up with this system after that happened a bunch of times.

FH promises to wash dishes and cook all the time. i guess he never cooks because we never have any clean dishes!

my story is even worst..i dont live with FH and he has nasty dishes stacked in his sink...i have to wash them because i think its soo gross....i always tell him one million times and i get the same answer ' i will do it in a second' which turns into days and days...how annoying !!!

I threatened to keep buying new dishes instead of me washing them. After all, we have a dishwasher? Is this so hard?

I started buying paper plates for him to use now.

Happens ALL the time. And when I finally give up and do them myself he's all I said I would do them! Yeah, but I've been waiting a week and the stack of dishes is going to fall over it's getting so high!

yeah we mostly use paper here since I get the same thing.
Give it back. Tell him you will wash tonights dishes and LEAVE the other ones in the sink for him when you are done -

repeat until he does the ones he said he would!

That'll get the point through!

Last week I turned into Hitler here - made my FH and my son shut the TV off and do something -
we were done in a quarter of the time and I was happy as a clam!

Men - they have to learn to do 1/2 of what we do...even that would be acceptable!

What is even worse-- Fi will do the dishes (after alot of harassment), but do a crappy job and driend food will be stuck to them. I have to rewash tehm, but he thinks he's great for doing them first!
