NWR - Wearing red to an E-party

i know the whole old school rule 'Never wear red to a wedding' and i actually do still live by that rule, HOWEVER, there isnt any rules about wearing red to an E-Party are there??

cause I got an UNBELIEVABLE beautiful dress to wear to our friends E-Party next week (which was also an unbelievable price too) and when i mentioned that i was wearing it i got the Gasp of Shame lol its not Fire Engine red, its a more toned down red and so so so pretty

I think its supposed to be about attention, you're not supposed to wear something that will upstage the bride. However I don't consider an e-party such a ridiculous event so I don't see the problem in it. Unless your friend is planning on going all out on this party herself, I think you're fine .

I never even heard of the not wearing red to a wedding rule before and I have done so before..... oops! I guess I live under a rock

I had the same feeling its an E-party, not that serious!
one of my coworkers did the ::gasp:: your wearing red?! and even FH asked 'arent you not supposed to wear red or white' and i had to remind him, this isnt the wedding!!! its an e-party!! BIG difference lol

its not a bright, sparkly red dress, just a strapless red really pretty and classy. deffinately not upstaging at all. i am actually REALLY excited to wear it lol also FH had to rent a tux for this party so i need to look good next to him lol

(and for the girls who are our facebook page, this is the e-party when that certain someone was asking if my cast would be off in time or not)

every now and then my mom gets all old school on me, and i think back in her day lol( before there were 20 shades of red ) it was a rule of thumb, its just always stuck in my head lol


i dont think its a bad thing to wear red now a days tho
