NWR - Weight watchers anyone?
Im trying to get the gist of how it works. Is it really on $10 a week or is there more cost involved? What kind of foods can you eat? Im a diabetic so I cant have a lot of carbs.

Re: NWR - Weight watchers anyone?
In all honestly, can you eat anything, its all about portions. I did it for many years and lost 60 pounds. (Ive since gained back 35!)But there is no 'you cant eat that' in WW at all. Every food has a points value. Its your decision on how you want to distribute them throughout the day and for what meals. Of course you have to have a certain # of servings of vegetables, dairy, protein, grains, etc. per day. Being a diabetic should not restrict you at all!

Re: NWR - Weight watchers anyone?
You pay $10 a week, with no extra cost unless you decide to buy their products, which aren't a necessity. I buy pre-pay tickets, which come in a pack of 10 for $89.50, so you are getting $1.00 off each week. You get 3 free missed meetings in a 26 week period (I think that is the time frame, don't quote me on that.) They recommend that you stay for meetings and say that people who do usually have better results. Some meeting topics are better than others and some leaders are definitely better- I went to a few before I found one I liked enough to keep going every week. I usually get good ideas and encouragement from the meetings, so I keep going. They also have an online program you can do if you don't think you would go to meetings. They give you all the info you need at meetings.I have lost 35 pounds and I really like it. You can tailor the plan to what you like to eat and what works best for your body type and what type of food satisfies you. FM me if you want any other info or if you have questions.

They give you a bunch of books and pamphlets and things called 'sliders/calculators' so you can figure out how many points different foods are. You then basically have all the information you need - then you can go to the supermarket and buy what you want.

Diva - I LOVE LOVE LOVE the meetings. I lost 30 pounds on WW. Can't recommend it enough! They have health guidelines, but really they're in line with healthy living so it shouldn't be an issue for your dietary restrictions. I go to WW in Wantagh, and I do the Thursday 7:30 meetings. I don't know where you're from but I'd be thrilled to meet you at a meeting!

I do it online. Its 14.95/month. I find it very easy to use and I love it! You can calculate the points of anything on the site. And you can even enter in recipes from cookbooks or that you have from family members and it calculates those points! Plus there are tons of great recipes and tips on there.

I just rejoined. Actually my FH makes fun of me because he thinks I'm just going because I like my group leader. It's true. She's great.

I'm on it. People at work are seeing a difference in me. That makes you feel good when people see the change.

Re: NWR - Weight watchers anyone?
I went on the south beach diet because weight watchers didnt work for me, reason because if you left it up to me the 24 points I was allowed I was still figuring junk food in there somehow, but my stepsister does it and she lost mega weight, for me I needed something to tell me what to eat and when.Welcome New Vendors
