NWR: were to take 8 year old for B-day in the City - HELP
I just found out that I must plan something for my sister’s b-day tomorrow (!!!) Ladies do you have any recommendation where to take my sis (8) and bro (1.5) for some fun and dinner (my parents are coming) in the city. I’m totally lost. I have no ideas at all. Plus tomorrow will be raining all day.
TIA

ok.
1. Times square- Take them to the M and M store to start. Its really awesome and will take up a good deal of time. get there at 10 and walk around for 2 hours.
2. Mars 2112 - will be fun for the kids
3. Hershey stoe is right there. Not as much fun but cool.
4. Museaum of Natural History.
4. Fao schwartz- 57th and 5th ave. That will occupie them for a while.
5. B'way show? Little mermaid or Mary Poppins?
6. American Girl place (on 5th as well?)
Hope this helps!

ewww!
sorry.. i HATE that place SO much! I went with my fam and ex b/f for my 20th birthday... the waiter was SO nasty to me, he actually hit me a few times (and others too) while passing... I wanted to order something from the kids menu, because of how sensitive my stomach is... all i wanted was moz sticks and fries or chicken.. i don't remember but i was told NO.. that I had to order from the 'grown up menu, because you're an adult now' THIS IS WHAT THE MANAGER told me! oh and my nephew was with us, he was about 7 at the time, he hated it!
but i agree with catching a show, going to the museum or maybe CP zoo.... dylans candy bar... um, jekyll and hyde (although they are overpriced and food isn't that good- at the one near CP, i heard the other is better)
if you can get tickets to see shrek, go for it! my parents took all of us back around christmas... it was AMAZING!

I agree!! I took my neice there and they have the cutest little cafe!! It was sooo much fun! If she has an american doll, she can take her to the salon and have her hair redone and have her bathed...it was really cute!

Also, if you are in times square you can take them to Toys R Us!!!! Which is not far from M&M and Hershey.

Alice's Tea Cup!
I was just going to sugges this tooe. We take my niece there all the time -- she LOVES it.
Also right now down on Bleeker Street is the community production of Pinkalicious the isMusical -- it is based on the book Pinkalicious. It is really cute -- we took my niece this past weekend and she loved it -- more then the Little Mermaid!

I agree with Serendipity, she would LOVE IT!!!! only problem is the line there but while you wait you can just walk to the corner and go to dylan's.
Alice's tea cup and american girl like others suggested would be fun too.
What sort of stuff is she into, maybe she would like something like the Planetarium, or maybe stop at tkts and tix to a show
