NWR: were to take 8 year old for B-day in the City - HELP

Original post by 10102009Bride

I just found out that I must plan something for my sister’s b-day tomorrow (!!!)
Ladies do you have any recommendation where to take my sis (8) and bro (1.5) for some fun and dinner (my parents are coming) in the city. I’m totally lost. I have no ideas at all. Plus tomorrow will be raining all day.

TIA

I saw pinkalicious with my future niece, she's 7-- she LOVED it!

Also try the restaurant NINJA in tribeca, NYC-- really fun restuarant where all the waiters are ninjas and are interactive with you.

Jackyl & Hide-- did somebody already say that?

Ripley's believe it or not in Times Square

maybe a boat ride tour of NYC-- I don't know if that would be boring or fun for her. Then you can hang out at Southstreet seaport where they have all types of restaurants and a charicature artist usually.

Central Park-- you can go rowing, there is also a restaurant right where you rent the rowboats.

Chelsea Peirs (sp)

Bowling-- Bowlmar or Lucky Strikes

Hope that helps :)

ninja is very expensive just want to point that out in case she thinks of going, their dinner options START at $60 per person and the menu option with more food choices is $90 per person. Also, ninjas jump at you so not sure how kids will react to that, they do magic tricks but for a day out with a kid can be real pricey and to tell you the truth, the place was cool but food was eh

Alice's Tea Cup!

I was just going to sugges this tooe. We take my niece there all the time -- she LOVES it.

Also right now down on Bleeker Street is the community production of Pinkalicious the isMusical -- it is based on the book Pinkalicious. It is really cute -- we took my niece this past weekend and she loved it -- more then the Little Mermaid!

Good to know! I want to take my 4 year old niece to something fun.

Also, there is a new restaurant I heard is kid friendly called Sweetipie
Sweetiepie
19 Greenwich Avenue
New York, NY 10014
(212) 337-3333

oh I don't know if I have EVER seen a kid in there. . it has a big human size birdcage in the window and seems to me to be a kind of VERY overpriced diner. . like mac and cheese for 15 dollars. . its around the corner from me and I have never been there so this is just an impression, i could be TOTALLY wrong. . it is bright and pink so could be fun. .
