my fsil has a crv and my fmil drives it all the time... she loves it and hasnt had a problem.. I think its about 4 years old now. My FMIL likes it so much shes thinking about buying one

ohhh I love jettas!! I think they are so cute!! my good friend had one before she got married.. and then she had to give it up b/c it was too much to pay for a house and 2 cars.. she cried so hard the day she had to sell it

We're similar - I have a new Civic, FH has a VW GTI (2 years old). Both are great cars.
I was thinking of asking this while I was driving home on Friday... No Joke! (every 8-10 months I have a psycic moment)
I drive a green 2001 Honda Civic. My first brand new car.
I wanted a Silver CRV but they were a bit out of my budget.
congratulations on your first new car!!!! I guess this isnt a weird question to ask afterall if you were going to ask the same thing

And FH just bought the V6 2003 Accord coupe.

we were actually looking into audi's since they are all wheel drive!! FH loves the S4... but I dont like stick.. and its a little $$$$ I have never heard a bad thing about the A4 and think its a gorgeous car!!

September 2004 - I just got a new CRV and I love it! It is a little quirky (as far as where the gear shift is located and the fold down table tray), but trust me as far as reliability and resale value go, you can't go wrong with Honda! I researched to DEATH before making my decision, and I am soooo glad I went with the CR-V. The car gave me the most features for my money, and a great resale value! It is awesome in the snow, too!
My FH loves Subarus though.... He thinks they are the best engines. They looked a tad bit too much like a station wagon for me (no offense JMO!)! Good luck with your decision - If you have any questions, feel free to FM!
ETA: FH drives a stick-shift '02 Mustang... I am slowly trying to convince him to trade it in for something more practical! I can't even drive stick!

I know what you mean about not practical in the winter but i am not complaining... i have a BMW 3 series... i bougt it before they came out with AWD FH just bought a Ford explorer on saturday... it is georgous
i will wait a couple years and get a BMW truck but first comes the house... i cannot be stuck in teh house when it snows
