NWR: What to get a 1 year old girl?
My friend's daughters birthday is coming up, she's a beautiful 1 year old girl. I don't have a ton of experience with little kids so I'm a little lost on what's age appropriate. Any ideas?

American Girl Doll? Or AGD accessories (if she already has one) I haven't done any research, but a savings bond perhaps?

I think you could get a one year old just about anything - clothes, a doll, dress up clothes, blocks, a stuffed animal, slippers, a little v-tech toy, a little ride on type of thing if she's walking.

When I've had to buy a gift for little ones, I go to Target, WalMart, etc. and look in the toy aisle for the age group I'm buying for. That helps a LOT because otherwise I'd be totally clueless as to what to buy haha!

One year olds love anything and everything new. They are constantly exploring their world, so just make sure it's something that will be okay if they put it in their mouths. Things with pictures, different textures, or cause/effect are great for learning. Kids love the toys that something pops up when you push the button.

I have a hard time getting kids toys because they always seem to be getting them from everyone else, so I tend to go for books. Disney has beautiful treasury books that are full of stories and illustrations that the child can grow up with.

One year olds are fairly easy! You can go to the Toys R Us website and find toys for a certain age group. Books are also always a great idea.

My nephew is 2, I always ask my sister what he needs. He gets a ton of toys and clothes that are for his current size. My sister is grateful that I am always buying him clothes for the next season. I usually end up getting a small toy as well. For his first birthday I gave him clothes, elf on the shelf and a savings bond.
