NWR what would you do...please help! UPDATE on bottom, & pics in album: IT SHOWERED!!!
One of my closest friend's bridal shower is next Friday. I am looking forward to it because I won't be able to attend her wedding because I'll be on my honeymoon.
FHs friend from work just called me because there is this big dinner for their company on THE SAME NIGHT and she talked to FH and he said he wasn't going. Well she told me that they are honoring him at this dinner for all the work he's been doing and it is a surprise for him!! She wants me and him to go because one of the partners is also GIVING US SOMETHING because he knows we're getting married.
Sorry this is so long, but what would you do go to the shower and miss out on this HUGE career event for FH? Or go to the dinner and apologize like crazy to my friend and feel bad? Uggghh!!

Thats Tough, Is there ANY WAY you can do 1/2 and 1/2 of both????
I personally would most likely go to FH dinner, that is a huge thing for him in his career, and I would want to be by his side to see how proud he is.
I know its hard, but you will have other days with your best friend.... shes getting married, I am sure she would most likely do the same thing for her husband...

Very hard choice but go to the dinner with FH, it could be a career move for him, in the end it is a better decision. If your friend is a true friend, she will understand!

I would love to go to both, but they both start at 7 and one is in Port Jeff (suffolk) and the other is in Roslyn (deep into nassau)

Go to the work dinner, but make sure you buy your friend a really good shower gift. Or, you go to the shower, and your FH goes to the dinner alone. If he has to, he could say that you're ill. I just think it would be very bad career-wise for your FH to miss out on the work dinner, especially for a friend of his fiance.

I say go to the dinner, I think your friend will be a little bummed but surely she will understand. I would def get her a great gift!!!

I would go to FH dinner and explain to your friend what is going on...this is a big thing for your FH and you can always send your gift with someone else

This was all a cover up for MY shower!! It turns out that my friend and I had our showers on the same night, tonight! So they figured out a way to get me dressed up and to the place! I was SOOOO shocked! I had an amazing time!!!
