NWR: Where are all the teachers?

NWR: Where are all the teachers?

Just wondering how many other teachers there are out there. Are you looking forward to going back or not? I had the greatest class I have had in 11 years last year, and this year I am having a class the total opposite, so I can't say am totally looking forward to it (but glad I have a job!) Plus, I enjoyed having the time off this summer to enjoy being engaged and spending so many days with my niece!

Hellllo :) I am looking forward to going back because I will be in a better school however, I will miss my old staff so much :( . It is my third year and I went in this week to decorate all week and as helpful as the new teachers were, it was scary being new to the school and adjusting to the school. The expectations were a lot higher as well lol .
I have spent more in this school on supplies, than in the past two years of teaching :( . I also am nervous and upset because I saw my class list and have 28 kids and it is growing everyday. In my other school, it never exceeded 22-23 =\

So yeah, with that said, goodluck and hope you have a great school year!! I sure hope I do hehe

I am a teacher. I teach 3rd grade. Hoping my class is better this year than it was last year. I have an inclusion class so there are two teachers (me and spec. ed) and we have a mix of special ed and regular ed kids. Good luck this year ladies!!!!

i teach 2nd grade. this is my 2nd year in my current school. last year i had a great class - even when they drove me crazy, they were complete angels compared to the kids i had in my old school.

my classroom looks so pretty and clean - but crowded. i have 28 kids this year, but i have a job, so i'm not complaining. i'm a little nervous because this group is supposed to be a tough one. i'm just concerned that i can do all the necessary stuff for school and not run into problems closer to the wedding. although i do love my principal because she told me that she will give me up to 3 days around the wedding without a problem. the wedding is right at easter break, so i really wouldn't need that much time anyway.

oh, and GOODLUCK to all the other teachers, especially those starting their first year - it's a hard job, but well worth it.

Ok so I am presently looking for a teaching job but am confused by one thing a few of you have stated. How do you know if your class is going to be 'tough' or 'good'? I mean you obviously havent had the kids in your class b/f, unless of course you are changing grades.
I assume its from other teachers input on the kids but was just curious.
