NWR: Where are all the teachers?

Original post by Roccosgirl

Just wondering how many other teachers there are out there. Are you looking forward to going back or not? I had the greatest class I have had in 11 years last year, and this year I am having a class the total opposite, so I can't say am totally looking forward to it (but glad I have a job!) Plus, I enjoyed having the time off this summer to enjoy being engaged and spending so many days with my niece!

i teach middle school math in queens- starting my 8th year as a teacher. yikes! most people assume i have some version of brain damage when i tell them this.. hahahah
i had a pretty awful summer, on top of teaching crappy summer school, so although i really love my job, i NEED my summers to recharge and i did not do that this year. so im nervous to see how this school year goes...

on a positive note, i just got the newest model smartboard mounted on my board in my room- wooo hooooo!!!!

I am so jealous about the smartboard...lol... I wish we had them mounted in our rooms....have fun!!

I'm looking forward to going back. My classroom is all set to go. Good luck everyone!!!

I teach kindergarten & I am mixed about going back. My classroom is all set up and I met a lot of my kids and their parents yesterday at the Kindergarten Social. I know I have some toughies b/c I remember them from DIAL screening & saw them again yesterday. I am excited to go back but I do loooove my summers off...especially this one b/c I've been doing all fun wedding stuff!!!

I hope everyone has a great start to the new year!!

Re: NWR: Where are all the teachers?

I'm excited to start!! I was moved from the HS to the MS so now I have a whole new building to learn and all new people to get to know. On top of that I'm teaching reading and ELA for the first time...along with Social Studies (which I've taught before!!).

As of yesterday I had no computer in my room....and I'm still a little scatterbrained..trying to get stuff together, plan lessons, make photocopies, etc.
