UGH! I don't even want to talk about music....my one studio I teach at hasn't started planning for the show yet so I don't have a song list just yet.

The studio I teach at that does have comps is DRIVING ME INSANE!!!!! I teach musical theater and I came up with 4 songs that the kids loved and I had a lot of ideas for and SHE, personally didn't like them and is FORCING me to use songs from Xanadu.....but I hate them!!! I find them boring, the kids don't like them.I don't know what to do?!!!??!!?!?!?!? The girls range from 12 to 16yrs old. I feel like the songs are just out of their league.

Sorry for the vent but I am STRESSING out about this.

I've been teaching for 7 years now and I have NEVER had a studio owner tell me exactly what songs I have to use for comp...especially when she is a non-dancer/parent.
Am I over reacting? Can you guys listen to the Xanadu music (xanadu & magic) and let me know if I'm just overreacting????

I'll take a listen! I own my studio and I usually don't give my teachers the music. I let them choose it, because I can't choreograph that way, and I know they cant either. If im not inspired be a piece then the dance ain't happening. So I feel you !!

I do mix my own music, I use goldwave.. go to www.goldwave.com and download the free trial. The free trial lasts about a year. It is really easy to use, it allows you to see the song in wave format and cut and paste what you dont want. The license was like 20.00 for three years. Definately worth it.

So is soundforge a real quality program?? Is this something I should look into? Right now I'm using Mix Meister but I want to look into something that I can do some more intricate effects with. Although I'm still learning with my program...it can be a pain in the a$$!!!
