So I'm shopping for an L-shaped couch for our apartment and can't seem to find one for under $800... is this possible? Any suggestions where to go?

There's a bunch of discount furniture places on 110 in Farmingdale. Check them out. I got a really awesome deal on a beautiful bedroom set last year at one of those places.

We paid about $1700 for our sectional from Jennifer Convertibles, but I got the really nice fabric on it, stain-treated and whatnot. We're in love with our couch... it was our first major purchase together!

we got ours at raymore and flannigan but it was more than 800. Maybe look into ikea and jcpenny?

I would recommend a couch from ikea (or at least their sectionals). Fh and I went and tested (ie sat on them) when we were looking for our sectional, and they are hard as a rock! We got our sectional at Penn Furniture. We got to pick out exactly what pieces we wanted to make our L. However we paid about $3000. But ours is 13 feet by 10 feet and has a sleeper in it. You could probably make one up for less if you didn't need anything too fancy.

Lol... that link is our couch!!! We got it without the chaise part, and covered it with an extra thick, deep red microfiber. It is SO soft and comfy... we just fall asleep on it all the time. It's held up to wear and tear great, too.
We definitely didn't pay $800 for it though... maybe it's on sale now? We also paid extra for the fabric and the stain protection and the warranty and the delivery, etc. It does add up a bit. But we're really happy with the purchase.
