So, FH and I will be moving into our new co-op hopefully in the beginning of Sept. We are looking to buy a couch and kitchen table. We have looked at a ton of furniture stores. We like some stuff from Bob's Furniture and Ashley's Furniture. However, I've heard that Bobs has gotten really bad reviews. So...
Where can we get good quality furniture at reasonable prices? Thank you!

I got my living room set at Jennifer Convertibles over 5 years ago; it was very affordable and it's survived 3 moves and still looks great. I love that it's a sofabed; great for guests esp. b/c I live in a 1 bedroom place!
This chat is the first time I ever heard anything good about Bob's so I'm glad and relieved my fellow brides had good experiences there! Before this, I only heard horror stories.
Peter Andrews off of Rte. 110 in Farmingdale has some unique pieces that really vary greatly in price.
Raymour and Flanigan as well as The Place and Ashley Furniture all have decent quality. Thomasville has awesome quality but you will pay! We'll eventually get bedroom furniture from there but not until we're settled into a house so we know the dimensions!

Our dresser, night stands, pub table, chairs, sofa, ottoman and recliner are from Bob's....we're SO happy. Great service, prices and quality.
Will DEFINITELY shop there again.....before then, I swore by Crate and Barrel, I go to them for accent pieces now.

Honestly, we have all our stuff from Ikea right now. We didn't buy the $5 coffee table, we still got nice stuff though. Everything still looks brand new, you just need to know what to get and what not to get from there.

We got some at Rooms Unlimited, some at Raymour & Flannigan and basically the rest at The Place in Coram.

MACYS Furniture Gallery on Glen Cove...they have a huge clearance section with great deals on everything!! I bought my rugs from there...100% wool for 50% off retail prices...my mom and sister have bought sofas (leather and fabric), end tables and mattresses from there.
I also bought my sectional from Bob's. Great price but watch out for shipping costs.
