I totally second sutton place and turtle bay..

if you want 'dirt cheap' head down to west 4th area.. theres the fat black pussy cat (yah weird name.. i know) they have a club called 'rumor' downstairs.. and off the wagon is around the corner on macdougal...

also vudu on 1st and 77th (i think ) has great hiphop/reggae/reggaetone music... (usually on sat.. dont know the friday scene too much)
