Re: NWR - Where would you live in Long Island (what towns)??
If you are in that range you are definately good depending on what you want. I just bought a house for less than that in Levittown and if I do say so it is very nice :)
Search in your own words. Describe what you need or ask a wedding planning question.
Hi Girls - I would really appreciate your help on this...I am not from Long Island but I just got married and am looking to buy a house out there. Any suggestions on where I should look?? I don't know the towns out there and where I should look vs where I should avoid. I am looking to stay closer to NYC if possible. I like towns with a little character and charm. Not sure of price range yet, but for now, just looking to get a sense for neighborhoods/towns you would recommend. I am open to North Shore or South Shore, but several people have told me North Shore is 'nicer' or maybe has a bit more character?? I don't know, but any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!!

I have lived in Levittown my whole life and would highly recommend it. The community and schools are great. The only downside is no basements.
huntington or coldspring harbor.... pretty north shore towns with decent abiance. For commuting, there is a shuttle train on weekday mornings that reaches penn in just under an hour....
Northport has all the charm and charactor you can get! I love it there!!!
I love Glen Cove, so much to do! I live in West Babylon, but I think that is too far of a commute for you to NYC.
I live in Massapequa too.. I love it.. but it's pretty expensive.. houses are going for a lot.. especially south of Merrick Rd.. and taxes kill you!!
I live in Nassau County, Garden City. There is so much to do. You are close to the city, there is tons of shopping, and their are beautiful homes, not to mention it has a great school district.
