Which pill do you guys recommend? I have been on the generic for LoEstrin 21, Junel 21, for about 6 months & I really am hating it. It's making me a raging lunatic especially before my period! I also feel severe anxiety, irritability over nothing, & almost paranoia sometimes too. I'm not like this and it's changing me I feel Does anyone recommend one that they like that DOES NOT cause weight gain? That's the one thing I like I feel like I lost weight on this one. I wish I didn't have to take one at all but I don't want to chance pregnancy before the wedding. TIA!

Re: NWR: Which Birth Control pill?
Was on Yasmin 28 for about 5 years. Switched to Zenchent (generic Yasmin) about a year ago and never had any problems.

I was on ortho tricycle lo for years, and loved it - no SE's or anything. They i tried Seasonique bc I wanted fewer periods and it was awful. I would breakthrough bleed constantly, sometimes for like 3 weeks in a row.
I just finished my first month on Loestrin 24, and so far it's been fine.

YASMIN
I WAS ON ORTHO LO AND WAS THE SAME WAY AS YOU - IT IS BECAUSE OF THE LOW AMOUNT OF HORMONES SO I WOULD STAY AWAY FROM THOSE

It really depends on the person. Loestrin 24 and I did NOT like one another. I was bleeding for a month straight and got depressed. Then I went on Yaz and it was awesome, although I did experience daily headaches.
I'm completely off BP now, though.
I am in the same boat now..i was on Loestrin 24 and i really really hated it...now i have been on YAZ for a few years now..but i do get alot of headaches when i start a new pack of pills

I would not recommend Ortho Lo. I went crazy on it and gained weight.

I was on that one for about a year and HATED it....Cryselle-28 is what I switched to, and so far so good.

Re: NWR: Which Birth Control pill?
Yaz worked the best for me, but all the negative news about it made me flip out and stop taking it! My friend loves the nuvaring so I want to talk to my md about that. You may have the same issue I had: basically, my doctor explained to me that when a pill goes into a generic, only a certain percentage of the generic needs to be identical (say, around 80%). The generic still MUST do the same thing (i.e. prevent pregnancy), but after the 80%, they could put whatever mix of hormones and fillers that they want for the remaining 20%! My skin and mood goes insane when I'm on any generic, but I'm generally fine on the brands.
