NWR: Which play to see for FH's birthday?

Hey ladies,

I want to buy FH tickets to see a play (not a musical) on Broadway for his birthday coming up on 10/3. He keeps saying that he hasn't seen a good play in a long time and would love to go, so I'd bring him to the traditional 'Dinner and a show' night.

Anyone hear good/bad things about:
The 39 Steps
The Perfect Crime
Platanos & Collard Greens (is this a musical? Heard good things.)
