Who does a budget every time they get paid?

I have a reminder on my computer. I get paid twice a month so I pay my bills then. I'm very anal about bills. So much so that I harass my FI because I have his bills in my reminder as well. From so much harassing, now I have to do his bills too.

That's what I get for being a nag!!! BUT, now his check gets deposited into my account and just give him an allowance.

So he better be nice to me!!! Or he doesn't get anything.

I dont even want to get started on the budget thing. It is soooo frustrating and scary. I am using the knot 's budget tool which is pretty helpful.

Since we got engaged we have budgeted for our future more so than for the wedding itself. Once we moved in together two months ago, it was more serious. I consider every purchase I make more closely than before because I know if I overspend, it has a direct effect on not just myself but him as well.

ETA:
I learned that we cannot put everything we save for the wedding because in the even that one of us gets injured or loses our jobs, we need to have a cushion. Nobody is going to pay our rent for us. Something to consider.
